Call for Abstracts (CFA)
Conference Vision
The Rigvedic Himalaya (RH) initiative proposes an integrated cultural–ecological framework for understanding the Himalayan region. It posits that the Himalaya is not merely a geographical space but a “Living Archive” where physical survival, cultural identity, and spiritual fulfillment are inextricably linked. Building on the success of the first three series, the 4th ICRH-026 invites scholars, scientists, and practitioners to explore the intersections of Vedic philosophy, indigenous knowledge, and modern environmental science.
Thematic Areas for Submission
We invite original submissions that address the following or related subjects through interdisciplinary lenses:
- Rigvedic and Vedic texts, philosophies, and interpretations
- Himalayan cultures and olitics, economy and trade, migration and mobility, spirituality, rituals and symbolism, sacred landscapes
- Himalayan ecology and natural resource management: biodiversity, indigenous resource management, forest and non-timber forest products, eco-tourism, watershed, wetlands and pasture management
- Contemporary issues on climate change, pandemic, food security, rising distrust on public institutions, conflict, AI and others examined in Vedic and Himalayan contexts
- Other relevant themes and perspectives on Vedic discourses and Himalayan worldviews
Submission Guidelines
- Abstract Length: Maximum 300 words along with a brief bio-note (100 wrods) in word format
- Review Process: All submissions will undergo a review by the ICRH Scientific Committee
Important Dates
- Abstract Submission Deadline: September 16, 2026
- Notification of Acceptance: September 30, 2026
- Full Presentation Submission: November 15, 2026
- Conference Dates: December 7–9, 2026
Publication: Accepted papers presented in the conference will be considered for publication in the following journals:
Rigvedic Himalaya: Journal of Vedic Perspectives & Himalayan Cultures (ISSN: 3059-9431) published by Mukta Foundation
Journal of Forest and Natural Resources Management (ISSN 2681-6424) published by IOFPC.
Modality
The ICRH will feature Keynote addresses, Thematic lectures, Paper presentations, Poster presentations, and Policy dialogues. Field Visits to a culturally and ecologically significant site in the Pokhara valley will be organized for the registered participants and speakers.
