1st ICRH-023, Pokhara

INTRODUCTION

In collaboration with Gandaki University, Pokhara, Central Department of Anthropology (T.U.), Kathmandu, and other academic and strategic partners Mukta Foundation organized the 1st International Conference on Rigvedic Himalaya (ICRH) on 2023 December 7 & 8 in Pokhara.  

The key intention of the ICRH was to provide an opportunity for global participants working in South Asian society and culture to share their academic ideas and experiences about Rigvedic concepts and perspectives. We hope that the ICRH outcomes were significant contributions to the knowledge of living Rigvedic nature cultures in the Himalayas and around the world. It was the first conference of this kind in Pokhara Valley situated in the lap of the Annapurna massif and Mt. Machapuchhre.

Conference Details

  • 30+ papers presentation.
  • Participants 200
  • 2 days duration.
  • Publication of 1 proceeding/journal following the conference.
  • Conduct ICRH annually.
  • The conference will be inaugurated by high-level state leadership.

Conference locations: Kuti Resort Pokhara-6, Lake side (Inauguration and parallel sessions) & Hotel Annapurna View Resort, Pokhara-18, Sarangkot⁕ (Panel discussions)

(*Sarangkot is located above 4700ft. the best location to see the Himalayan range, the best viewpoint to see the sunrise and sunset, and the lake cluster of Pokhara valley. The conference hotel is reached by a 2.3km long cable car from Lakeside, Pokhara.)

Conference Registration

The conference registration is open to the paper presenter (pls write us an email). For the participants, registration is open from July 25, 2023.

Registration fee & process

Registration fee:

a. Nepal & South Asia NPR 2000 & SEA/EU/America $40 (without accommodation)

b. Nepal & South Asia NPR 4000 & SEA/EU/America $100 (with accommodation)

Description of the conference reg. fee/cost:

The registration fee covers;

      • Conference bag
      • ID Card
      • Stationery
      • Certificate
      • Token of love
      • Breakfast/lunch/high-tea and mineral water for the conference days (2 days)

*(An entry fee of NPR 1200.00 applies to all partial participants including only in the inaugural/plenary session. Registered participant ( of a & b) does not need to pay the entry fee.)

Accommodation:

  • 3 days of accommodation in a double bedroom (for Nepal & SA) will be provided for the registered participants paid with the accommodation fee.
  • We kindly request you to fill out the conference registration form to let us know more about your accommodation preferences.
  • If you need special services for your living in the hotels we have arranged for the conference participants, pls let us know as early as possible. We would be happy to provide you with the best services.
